A formal statement from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) states that the company recorded a cumulative domestic tally of 14,959 units in August 2022 as opposed to 12,772 units during the same period in the previous year, representing a YoY volume increase of 17%. Toyota reported YoY growth of 68% for the period from April to August 2022.
Atul Sood, Associate Vice President, Sales and Strategic Marketing, TKM, commented on the sales performance: “Last month, our segment-leading models, such as the Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and the Legender, experienced unprecedented customer orders, further reinforcing the high regard that Toyota models enjoy in these segments.”
Sales of the premium Toyota Glanza hatchback and the small SUV Urban Cruiser have been strong, and according to the brand, the Vellfire premium MPV has also been well received by customers, growing by nearly 120%. The Japanese auto giant added that encouraging orders for the Camry Hybrid were also reported last month.

Its 1.5-liter four-cylinder mild-hybrid K15C petrol engine, which is mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission, generates a maximum power output of 103 PS and a peak torque of 135 Nm. With this powertrain, a four-wheel drive system is also available.
Toyota New Car Will Again Boost The Sales
A powerful hybrid system and the 1.5-liter, three-cylinder Atkinson Cycle TNGA petrol engine combine to produce a maximum power output of about 115 PS. It makes a specific EV mode available. Toyota will introduce the new generation Innova HyCross after the Hyryder, with a local launch scheduled for January 2023. In the upcoming months, the second-generation Urban Crusier based on the most recent Brezza will also go on sale.
