With the popularity of six and seven-seater SUVs growing, many brands are working on introducing new offerings in the segment, and as many as 12 new 6- and 7-seater SUVs and MPVs will soon make their debut in India.
1. Hyundai Stargazer
The new Stargazer was recently launched in Indonesia and provides buyers with a practical and feature-rich package. Hyundai is expected to launch the new Stargazer in India soon, competing with rivals such as the Kia Carens and the Maruti Suzuki XL6.
2. New Maruti 7-Seater SUV
Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch a new 7-seater SUV soon after the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. This new SUV will be built on the new Global C-Platform and will use the same powertrain options as the Grand Vitara.
3. Toyota 7-seater C-segment MPV
Toyota is expected to launch a new 7-seater C-segment MPV in India, with mild hybrid and electric powertrain options. More information, however, is not yet available.
4. Toyota Rumion
The Rumion MPV, based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, will be the most affordable 7-seater offering in the brand’s lineup, with petrol and CNG powertrain options.
5. Toyota Innova HyCross
The new Innova HyCross will be built on an entirely new platform and will feature hybrid petrol engine options as well as a premium and comfortable cabin. The Innova Hycross will go on sale in late 2022 or early 2023.
6. Next Gen Toyota Fortuner
The new Toyota Fortuner is currently one of the best-selling SUVs in India, and it will soon be replaced by a next-generation model. It will not only have improved performance, but it will also have updated powertrain options and improved safety. It will be released following the release of the Innova HyCross.
7. Honda 7-Seater SUV
Honda is currently developing a number of new SUVs, including a new 7-seater model to compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Alcazar and the Tata Safari. While more details are unknown, this new 7-seater SUV will share powertrain options and a feature-rich cabin with the Honda City.

8. Citroen 7-Seater SUV
Citroen is aggressively expanding its Indian portfolio and is expected to launch a new 7-seater SUV in India soon after launching a new midsize SUV. This new SUV could be powered by the same 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine that powers the C3 in India. More information about this new SUV is still unknown.
9. New Kia Carnival
The new Kia Carnival will make its Indian debut soon, with a better design, larger dimensions, updated powertrain options, and improved safety features. The Carnival is a strong competitor to rivals such as the Toyota Innova.
10. Nissan 7-Seater SUV
Based on the current iteration of the Nissan Magnite, this new 7-seater SUV is expected to debut in 2023 with similar powertrain options as the Magnite.
11. Renault Duster 7-Seater SUV
Renault’s new 7-seat SUV will be built on the same platform as the upcoming Dacia Bigster SUV. This new SUV will provide buyers with a strong package as well as impressive dynamics.
12. Skoda 7-Seater SUV
After introducing the new Kushaq and Slavia in India, Skoda is expected to introduce a new 7-seater SUV to compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Alcazar. However, the company has yet to reveal any additional information about this new 7-seater SUV.
