The 2023 Auto Expo will be held in January after a three-year hiatus, and the glaring absence of mainstream manufacturers such as Mahindra, TVS, Bajaj, and Hero will be immediately noticeable. The premier Indian motoring show, on the other hand, will be glitzy and glamorous, with a slew of new models set to be revealed to the public and media alike.
At the 2023 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki will reveal the five-door India-spec Jimny as well as the Baleno-based YTB crossover. Both are currently being tested on public roads and will make their market debut months after their global debut in Greater Noida. The upcoming Jimny will compete against the five-door Mahindra Thar and the five-door Force Gurkha.
The Baleno Cross will be powered by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing around 100 PS and will be equipped with premium features. Hyundai, the country’s second-largest automaker, is expected to host the local debut of the facelifted Creta in January, with a number of interiors and exterior changes.
The Hyundai Creta 2023 will have a completely redesigned front fascia that adheres to the latest Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy. The midsize SUV will almost certainly get new features, such as ADAS-based assistive and safety technologies. According to reports, the South Korean automaker will launch a micro SUV in late 2023, which could be previewed via concept at the Auto Expo.
In addition, a concept offering an early glimpse of the long-rumored affordable EV for India could take center stage. Tata Motors has had a successful calendar year, and it may look to keep the momentum going by displaying facelifted versions of the Harrier and Safari. Aside from exterior updates, the features list could include new equipment.
In response to the growing competition in the midsize SUV segment, the homegrown manufacturer is expected to add features such as ADAS to the mix. We’ll have all the details from the Auto Expo right here, so stay tuned for more action!
