Will.i.am Car Collection
1. Bentley Continental GT
It is unknown for sure if Will.i.am modified his Bentley Continental GT, but based on his résumé, one could make a safe assumption that he did. In reality, the rapper-singer was the victim of a burglary in 2010 when someone broke into his Bentley and took things worth about $10,000. Although we can’t be certain, it’s a relatively safe assumption to make given Will’s own track record that the Continental GT was modified.
2. Mercedes-AMG GT
Will.i.am and West Coast Customs once again worked together to create this custom Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, which is reportedly his dream car to build. This construction is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 2022, however it differs greatly from previous Silver Arrows builds.
This truly is a combination of the finest of Mercedes, and the one-off, only-one-in-the-world “Will.i.AMG” is truly a head-turner. It has the face of a G-Class and the hood vents from an SLS AMG. Will’s organisation, which aims to give struggling and at-risk children access to STEAM materials and education, is spearheaded by the automobile in partnership with Mercedes-AMG. The AMG GT is painted a noble white, which we think looks fantastic, so it’s only fitting.
3. Lexus NX
One of Will.i.am’s classier bespoke builds is this one. This customised 2015 Lexus NX, which was unveiled at the Paris Fashion Show in 2014, was very different from Will’s other outrageously over-styled vehicles. The NX is unquestionably one of the better vehicles produced by the Japanese manufacturer, and it is fitted with a broad body kit that displays brushed aluminium and carbon vinyl that maintains its elegance.
Impressive matte Pearl White paintwork highlights the black-tinted windows and panoramic sunroof even more. Naturally, there are all the typical Will.i.am modifications present, such as lowered suspension and 22-inch alloy wheels. Brake callipers painted bright orange, the only colour other than monochrome on the NX, likewise make a big impression. Additionally, there is special stitching that reads “willpower” on the leather Nappa seats.
4. Tesla Model S
For what it’s worth, the Tesla Model S already has a somewhat futuristic appearance. Will, however, decided to go ahead and customise his Model S as well due to his boundless pockets and penchant for tuning every car. The automobile was a creation of his philanthropic IAMAUTO customization brand, which never really took off, and was stuck with a wide-body kit and a slew of artificial vents (bad idea, always).
The car has large artificial air intakes, suicide doors, and extensively tinted, fake-looking windows. Some “rim-less” wheels that aren’t quite as impressive as the rapper must have believed round off the (or)deal. They appear to be quite huge in relation to the size of the automobile, whose stance is likewise dropped. To call it polarizing would be an understatement, but hey, it’s his money.
5. Tesla Roadster
The West Coast Customs team once more created “The Rocket,” a one-of-a-kind supercar constructed entirely of carbon fibre that was previously a Tesla Roadster. By this time, it should be very obvious that the rapper immediately contacts Ryan Friedlinghaus and his WCC crew whenever inspiration strikes.
The interiors of this customised Roadster were restored and redone in accordance with Will’s fancies of making everything he owns look futuristic on the inside, down to the glass panels that were employed. While his other Tesla car doesn’t truly seem as fantastic as this upgraded Tesla Roadster, which looks particularly good thanks to its carbon fibre construction,
6. DeLorean DMC-12
This car was handcrafted by Will.i.am, and given its history, it was crucial to maintain everything futuristic. The whole rear is painted white, with only the grille and its visible portions on the side and bottom of the body sporting any black highlights. A single brake light spans the full length of the back.
The car was enlarged eight inches wider than its original body and supplied with interiors that were engineered to be incredibly plush and comfy. It was powered by a GM LS3 E-Rod V8. The fact that the car is made out of aluminium and so very light makes things even better. Will reportedly spent $700,000 on this project, and in our opinion, it looks rather good. It’s a far cry from DeLorean’s actual futuristic Alpha5 car, though.
7. Volkswagen Beetle Bug
Once again, the West Coast Customs team created this one for the rapper and performer, and it is unquestionably a beauty. This Volkswagen Bug, which cost a stunning $900,000 to build from scratch and was based on a 1958 Beetle, is made entirely of plastic.
The car’s motor is a Corvette LS3, and a single iPad inside manages all interior functions, including climate control and door opening and closing. “You could pull up in this or you could pull up in the dopest Lambo that’s out there, and they’re going to look at this first,” West Coast Customs CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus said. It’s difficult to argue against that.
8. 1958 Custom Corvette
Will.i.am’s customised and futuristic automotive adaptations are undoubtedly a fantastic outlet for his creative talents, and his 1959 Corvette is a shining illustration of this. The automobile is genuinely hardly recognisable. The interior of the “Vette.i.am” or “Willvette,” which was created by West Coast Customs, is a C6.
A large touchscreen, a sizable custom sound system, and a massive custom grille keep things futuristic inside. Now, the design and the finished product themselves are, to put it mildly, divisive because it is unclear what Will was going for and whether this really upmarket adaptation actually looks nice.
