The most recent modifications to the Kia Sonet not only make it more expensive, but they also provide a larger list of amenities, including improved safety for the lesser varieties. In addition, two more colour possibilities have been added to the mix. The powertrain options, on the other hand, have remained unchanged. Check out all of the details below.
For starters, the new Kia Sonet now comes standard with greater safety features and equipment, starting at Rs 7.15 lakh for the base model (ex-showroom). In terms of upgrades, the Sonet now comes standard with four airbags across the board, while the additional two curtain airbags, which were previously only available on the top-end GTX+, are now also available on the HTX+.
The action follows the government’s announcement that six airbags will be required starting October 1, 2022. The Sonet 2022 is the first compact SUV in India to come equipped with four airbags.
Additional safety features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), and Hill Assist Control are now available on the iMT-equipped HTK+ model (HAC).
The kit includes a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System as well. Outside, there are two new colour options: Sparkling Silver and Imperial Blue, as well as no Sonet badging at the back. (hotcanadianpharmacy.com) On the HTK version, a new digital instrument console will be available.
The powertrain options have not changed, and the Sonet is still available with three engine options: a 1.2-liter petrol, a 1.0-liter turbo petrol, and a 1.5-liter diesel.
The 1.5-L diesel engine produces 115 horsepower, while the 1.2-L and 1.0-L petrol engines produce 83 hp and 120 hp, respectively. Regardless, depending on the version and engine, the SUV is available with five different transmission options: a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic, and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
