2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class India Launch Tomorrow – Price Expectations

The much-anticipated Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2022 is slated to hit Indian showrooms tomorrow. The features and specs of the new car for India have already been revealed by the firm. The sixth-generation C-Class will be available in three trim levels: C200, C220d (Avantgrade trim), and C300d (AMG-Line grade only).

The C200 Progressive and C220d Progressive trim levels of the outgoing model are priced at Rs 49.99 lakh and Rs 51.72 lakh, respectively. The new model is expected to cost roughly Rs 5 lakh more than the previous one. It will most likely cost between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh. AMG-Line models are expected to cost roughly Rs 70 lakh.

2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Engine Options

Three powertrain options will be available for the new C-Class. The 1.5L 4-cylinder engine in the C200 petrol delivers 204bhp and 300Nm of torque. The diesel version comes with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine with two tuning modes. The engine of the C220d delivers 200 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque. The powertrain of the C300d produces 265bhp and 550Nm of torque.

A 9-speed automatic transmission will be standard. The 48V mild-hybrid technology with integrated starting generator (ISG) system is standard on all three engines, adding 20bhp and up to 200Nm of torque. The petrol variant is said to get 16.9 kilometres per gallon, while the C200d gets 23 kilometres per gallon. It is reported to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 7.3 seconds. The C300d variant achieve 0-100kph sprint in just 5.7 seconds.

2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Features & Dimensions

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class shares the cabin design with the S-Class. It features a vertically stacked 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MBUX tech. It also gets a 12.3-inch digital driver instrument console, ADAS, connected car tech, a Burmster sound system, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats, etc.

The sedan offers 3 interior colour trims – Sienna Brown, Macchiato Beige and Black with open-pore wood trim with aluminium inserts and a metal weave trim options. It comes in 6 exterior paint schemes – Mojave Silver, Salatine Grey, Opalite White, High-tech Silver, Cavansite Blue, Manufaktur Opalite and Obsidian Black.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is bigger than the previous model. It is 65mm longer, 10mm wider and has a 7mm higher ground clearance. The sedan measures 4751mm in length and 1,820mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,865mm. The wheelbase has been increased by 25mm.
