Auto Expo 2023: Lexus LF-30 Made Debut In India
The RX made its debut in India at the Auto Expo 2023, joining the enormous LX and LM. The Japanese automaker also displayed two of their LF Concepts, the LF-Z and the LF-30 that you can see here, in addition to these road-going variations.
The LF-30, which made its debut at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, was arguably the most bizarre exhibit at this year’s Auto Expo. It offers a sneak peek at the technology and design innovations that Lexus predicts will be included on automobiles by 2030. More significantly, the design boasts enormous gull-wing doors that are attached to a glass roof that spans the entire body from the front to the back.
The LF-30 is enormous, measuring more than five metres in length and seeming more like a spaceship than a car. Due to four electric motors—one for each wheel—it weighs 2.4 tonnes as well. Thus, it can be all-wheel, rear-, or front-drive. 536 horsepower and 700 Nm of total power are claimed, enabling a 0-100kmph acceleration time of under 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 200kmph. Unpacking a 110-kWh battery pack, four electric motors are supplied.
The LF-30 also has other technology including gesture control, augmented reality, and B-pillar-free cabin access. The “Lexus Airporter,” a drone that can transport your luggage from the car’s trunk to your home, is also on display.
