Ducati DesertX Launched in India at Rs 17.91 Lakh

Ducati India has introduced the DesertX, a new adventure tourer, in our market for Rs 17.91 lakh. In India, this motorcycle, which comes in a single variant, competes with the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally and the Honda Africa Twin.

The new Ducati DesertX shares its 937cc, L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine with the Ducati Monster and Multistrada V2. However, Ducati has reworked the engine to make it lighter and more efficient by 1.7kg. On the new adventure tourer, this motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox and is tuned to produce a maximum output of 110bhp at 9,250rpm and a peak torque of 92Nm at 6,500rpm.

The feature set is also extensive, with the new DesertX including full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch TFT display. Furthermore, six riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Rally, and Enduro), four power modes (Full, High, Medium, and Low), cruise control, Bosch IMU, engine brake control, traction control, wheelie control, bidirectional quickshifter, and cornering ABS are available on this model.

A twin-pod headlight, a tall windscreen, a semi-fairing design, a 21-litre fuel tank, split-style seats, a side-slung exhaust, a bash plate, and tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels round out the styling. Tubeless tyres are mounted on the cross-spoke 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Other components include Kayaba-sourced upside-down front forks and a fully adjustable rear monoshock. Ducati will provide a plethora of optional accessories to further personalise the motorcycle.
