So the companies decided to shift the focus to Electric Pickups.

Many companies have started to showcase the concept models of their electric pickups. There are also some new companies like Bollinger, Lordstown that have started producing electric pickups. Their Specifications are mind-boggling. The hype for electric trucks is immense, but only a few are worth waiting for. Let’s check them out:-

1. GMC Hummer EV

When GMC announced that they will build an EV pickup truck, none of us expected that it will be a Hummer. It is a shock for Hummer fans but comes as a boon for the environmentalists. The model now comes in both SUV and Pickup forms. But we’re more interested in the pickup. The Hummer EV pickup gets power from 200 kWh batteries which give it the range of 560 km+. The edition one model generates a whopping 1000 HP and can go from 0-100 in only 3 seconds! All Edition 1 models got sold in the first 10 minutes of pre-booking. The other three variants are expected to be available till Spring 2024. The prices will be starting from $80,000.

2. Ford F-150 Lightning

An all-electric F-150 pickup? Sign us up! As a part of the fourteenth generation Ford F-Series, four models have been announced. These will initially be dual-motor, four-wheel-drive with a range estimate of 370-480 km. It can also supply power to a house for 10 days. It can tow up to 4500 kg. Its starting price is $39,974 while the top end Lariat and premium models go all the way up to $90,000.

3. Tesla Cybertruck

We cannot talk about EV pickups without mentioning Cybertruck. This weird looking truck is the production model which Elon Musk unveiled at Tesla Design Studio on 21st November 2019. It received mixed reviews after its reveal. Some praised its looks, while some criticized it. Its EPA range estimate is 400-800 km and 0-100 kmph time of 2.9 to 6.5 seconds; depending on the model. All three models have the same payload capacity of 1600 kg. On a single charge, it can go up to 500 miles on a single charge. Its price ranges from $40,000 to $70,000. Its production is scheduled to start in late 2021.

4. Bollinger B2

An all aluminium truck that looks just like the past Land Rovers and Land Cruisers. If that’s how you see the Bollinger B2, then mate you’re very wrong. It is a pickup having old-school looks with a dual-motor electric powertrain. This all-wheel-drive truck generates a combined power of 614 HP with a maximum torque of 905 Nm with a 120 kWh battery pack. There is also an optional 180 kWh battery pack to extend its range. It is able to tow around 5000 lbs. The price starts from $125,000.

5. Lordstown Endurance

Ohio’s Pride and joy, the Lordstown Endurance is the electric pickup truck that Donald Trump showed off on the eve of the Cleveland presidential debate. The claimed specs say that the base model will get a range of 400 km, electric AWD with four-in-wheel hub motors. These generate around 600 HP which makes the truck able to tow up to 3400 kg. Its maximum speed is 128 kmph. It seems that the company is targeting commercial buyers. Its price will start at $52,500.
