Hyundai India To Launch Five Locally Produced Models By 2030

Hyundai India confirmed that it will have 5 locally manufactured EV cars for the domestic market by 2030. The first of them will be a Hyundai Creta EV, which has been sighted testing several times and is now set to go into production at the end of this year with an early 2025 launch date. It is estimated to have a range of roughly 500km and will borrow the majority of its design cues and feature set from the recently upgraded ICE Creta. The price is estimated to vary between Rs 22 lakh and Rs 26 lakh.

  • To have 485 charging stations by 2030

Hyundai is anticipated to launch the Venue EV following the Creta EV. This is now the hottest EV class, with Mahindra and Tata leading the market. The underlying formula will remain same, but the design and features will be derived from the next-generation vehicle, which is set to debut in 2025. The present Venue opened in 2019 and received a refurbishment in 2022.

The Alcazar EV, the third electric vehicle following the Creta EV, will be the logical move forward. This is effectively a three-row version of the Creta EV, and we expect a substantial update for the ICE Alcazar later this year, so the EV variant should catch up on those design cues and feature list. The Alcazar EV will be the Hyundai-Kia alliance’s second three-row car for the Indian market.

The Exter EV will most likely be the ultimate affordable model. It will be Hyundai’s rival in the Rs. 10-12 lakh EV segment, competing against the Tiago EV, Punch EV, MG Comet, Tata Tigor EV, and future Maruti and Toyota models.

The cheap attack is expected to be followed by a premium push in the shape of an improved Ioniq 5. The car has been on sale in India since early 2023, and we anticipate that by 2030, a new iteration will be offered globally. This new product will be shipped to India and constructed locally.
