Kia Seltos 2023 Testing In India Begins
Kia India looks to have gone back to the drawing board and begun work on the Seltos facelift. While the new Seltos made its global premiere in November of last year, it has already been observed testing on Indian soil.
The Seltos will receive its first upgrade in 2019, and given we’ve seen the global-spec model, we should expect minor modifications to the SUV’s external appearance. The tiger snout will remain on the 2023, but the LED headlamp clusters will be new, with DLRs extending into the front grille. Furthermore, the alloys will get a new dual-tone silver and black finish, and the tail lights will be completely revamped, with an illuminated light stripe running across the width of the tailgate.
The binnacle layout of the instrument cluster and entertainment system will be preserved within the interior. However, the driver’s display will be digital, and the centre console will be rebuilt to include an automatic parking brake. Aside from that, we anticipate the new Seltos to include a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS technologies.
The Seltos will be powered by current 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines that will be modified to satisfy the impending RDE and new BS6 2 standards. Both engines will be available with manual and automated transmissions. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine, like the 2023 Creta, is most likely to be phased out.
The 2023 Kia Seltos will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruise Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and its DNA cousin, the Hyundai Creta, when it is released in the coming months.
