Mahindra plans to release a line of electric vehicles, including the eXUV300. In 2021, the firm said that it would launch up to 16 electrified vehicles over the next seven years. Eight electric SUVs and eight light commercial vehicles would be among the new types. Mahindra has previewed three new electric SUV ideas, all of which are set to appear later this year. In addition, the company has inked an agreement with Volkswagen to use MEB platform components in its next line of “born electric” vehicles.

The 2022 Auto Expo’s eXUV300 concept displayed a near-production model with only minor visual differences from the normal internal combustion-engined XUV300. The closed-off grille and vents on the front bumper, blue accents around the body, the lack of traditional exterior rear-view mirrors, and the distinctive design wheels and headlight internals were all noticeable variations.

We should expect some cosmetic changes to the production vehicle over the petrol and diesel models based on the idea, though some of the concept car-like aspects of the 2022 show car will be changed.

In terms of engine, the business announced at the 2020 Expo that the SUV would have a single electric motor producing 130 horsepower, a 40kWh battery, and a range of up to 300 kilometres.

When it launches next year, the eXUV300 will compete with the popular Nexon EV.
