1. Maruti Suzuki 800 – Hatchback Segment
Today, Maruti Suzuki is the leader of Indian manufacturing industry with insane sales report. But looking at the start, Maruti Suzuki launch step in into the Indian automobile industry by its product Maruti Suzuki 800. Maruti Suzuki 800 is the India’s Frist hatchback which were launched in 1983 later became India’s best-selling car and also, the proud face of Indian Motoring!Â

2. Tata Indigo eCS – Compact Sedan
Looking back Tata launched the Indica in 1998, a fully indigenous Indian passenger car tailor-made to suit Indian consumer needs though styled by I.D.E.A, Italy. Although for this Tata motors criticized by many Auto Analysts but just after the sucess of its Indica car Tata Motors launched their bigger version in the Indian market Tata Indigo. However, this product doens’t perform well in term of sales.
The Tata Indigo eCS 2008, the pioneer of sub-4m compact sedans in India. This car is very much popular in between the cab driver and Taxi drivers because of its cheap price, easy to maintain & with good mileage. But we all know the ‘Maruti Swift Dzire’ is always the king of this segment.
3. Ford EcoSport – Compact SUV
Indian’s always dream to buy big cars like SUV, but because of many problems it’s quite inconvinient to be owner of big SUV. As we’ll know it’s difficult to managed such big SUV because of different driving dynamics & dimensions.
Ford noticed all the above aspects very early and introduce their Ford EcoSport in the Indian market. And, Ford EcoSport becomes the game-changer for the entire history of brand and sales just boomed and blue ovel starts shinning in the India. However, in term of credit the frist official Compact SUV is Premier but this car doesn’t impacted thus we’ve credited to favorite Ford EcoSport.
4. Tata Safari – Luxury SUV
The revolutionary car of 90’s Tata Safari. People have different level of craze for Tata Safari our words are not enough to mention those. But, Tata Safari is the pioneers of full sized Luxury SUV segment in India.
It was the year 1998 when Tata Safari launched and become very popular and favourite cars among TV stars, Politician and Off-Roader’s. Its capabilities made it very popular amongst the auto enthusiasts of the time. Tata Motors sold a great number of Safari cars during its initial run despite a price tag of Rs.8.25 lakhs which was considered hefty back in the day.
5. Tata Seirra – SUV
Tata Motor is the only brand who predict the future of industry probably because of home market, may be ?Tata Motors entered the passenger vehicle market in 1991 by launching the Tata Sierra, a sport utility vehicle based on the Tata Mobile platform.
Based on Tata’s X2 platform, it was the first off-road SUV produced by Tata. But it is way more than just a regular SUV. Even though it was later replaced by Safari, the Sierra still maintains its legendary status.
