With the Nexon EV and Tigor EV, Tata Motors is now leading the EV industry in India. A fully disguised test mule of the Tata Altroz EV was recently discovered. With the Altroz DCA now on the market, it’s unclear what Tata is testing with the Altroz test mule. It’s possible that it belongs to the Altroz EV.
On NH48, the Tata Altroz EV was Spotted Testing. It is intended to use the same Ziptron technology as the Tigor EV and Nexon EV from Tata Motors. In India, Tata is anticipated to price the electric hatchback competitively. According to prior media sources, the Altroz EV will have a claimed driving range of 500 kilometers. The larger battery pack and ALFA architecture on which the premium hatchback is based make this possible.
However, given the increasing trend of SUVs, Tata Motors may introduce the Punch EV first. On April 29th, the local manufacturer will showcase a new electric vehicle. Tata Motors’ plans are unknown at this time.
Tata Motors is working on a long-range Nexon electric car.
The Nexon EV is currently being developed by Tata Motors in a long-range form. Both the current Nexon EV and the long-range Nexon EV will be available for purchase. People who want to use an electric vehicle for most daily commutes will purchase the ordinary Nexon EV, while those who want to use it for long trips will get the long-range variant. It won’t look much different than the current Nexon EV in terms of appearance. Mechanical upgrades, on the other hand, would be made.
The current Nexon EV has a battery capacity of 30.2 kWh, whereas the long-range Nexon EV will have a battery capacity of 40 kWh. The Nexon EV has a claimed driving range of 312 kilometres, which is expected to be increased to 400 kilometres with the long-range Nexon EV. The Nexon EV has a real-world range of 200 to 250 kilometres. This will be increased to 300 km, allowing visitors to take longer journeys.

Long-range Nexon EV Price
The long-range Nexon EV is expected to cost around Rs. 17 lakhs to Rs. 18 lakhs due to the additional battery pack. The current Nexon EV has a starting price of Rs. 14.54 lakhs ex-showroom and a maximum price of Rs. 17.15 lakhs ex-showroom.
The additional battery pack is likely to be kept in the boot space, resulting in a reduction in boot space. The Nexon EV features a 350-litre cargo space. Tata would also have to change the floor plan to meet the new criteria.
To explain the extra price, Tata Motors will add more features to the long-range Nexon EV. Adjustable regeneration, ventilated seats, cruise control, Electronic Stability Program, and rear disc brakes would all be included.
We don’t know if the Nexon EV with a longer range will be more powerful or not. The current Nexon EV has a maximum power output of 129 PS and a peak torque output of 245 Nm. The battery pack comes with an 8-year warranty from Tata and is also IP67-rated.
