The Tata Nexon EV has set a new record by becoming the world’s first electric SUV to reach the frigid heights of the Umling La Pass in the Himalayas. The Umling La pass, at 19024 feet, is the world’s highest motorable road. The pass, which connects Chisumle and Demchok in Eastern Ladakh, is strategically important. The Tata Motors team, driving the Tata Nexon EV Max, began the journey in Leh and completed the journey across Umling La on September 18, 2022.
The Nexon Electric SUV is India’s best-selling electric vehicle, and it comes in a variety of configurations. The XM is the entry-level trim, and it costs Rs. 14.99 lakh ex-showroom. This trim has an ARAI-certified range of 312 kilometres, while the actual range in the real world is around 180-200 kilometres per charge. A 30.2 kWh battery powers the Nexon EV XM trim. (50gram) It takes 8.5 hours to recharge the battery from empty fully. The Tata Nexon EV’s higher trims are known as the XZ Plus, XZ Plus Dark Edition, XZ Plus Lux, and XZ Plus Lux Dark Edition, and they come with more equipment and features. However, the battery size and range remain unchanged from the XM trim.

Tata Nexon EV Specs
Tata Motors recently released a new version of the Tata Nexon EV with a longer range. The Nexon EV Max is an electric SUV with an ARAI-certified battery range/charge of 437 kilometers and a 40.5 kWh battery. The electric powertrain is available in two key trims: 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW. A full battery charge takes 15 hours for the 3.3 kW trim, while the 7.2 kW trim’s battery pack can be recharged from empty in just 6.5 hours. The Nexon EV Max is available in two trim levels: XZ Plus and XZ Plus LUX. The Nexon EV Max is priced ex-showroom at Rs. 17.3 lakh.
Tata Motors also sells another electric vehicle in India. It’s a Tigor-based electric sedan. The Tigor EV starts at Rs. 12.49 lakh and is currently the most affordable electric car in India. Tata Motors will launch another affordable electric car later this month, with a price tag of around Rs. 10 lakh. We’re talking about the Tiago hatchback’s electric variant.
