Tata Motors Nexon reclaimed the top spot in the Compact SUVs Oct 2022 sales charts in October 2022, with 13,767 units sold versus 10,096 units sold during the same period last year, representing a healthy 36% YoY sales increase. The Punch micro SUV’s sibling rose to second place with 10,982 units sold.
Compared to the same period in 2021, when 8,453 units were sold, a YoY positive volume growth of 30% was observed. The new generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza fell from first to third place last month, with 9,941 units sold compared to 8,032 units sold in the same period a year ago, representing a 24% YoY increase.
We anticipate that Nexon and Brezza’s rivalry will only heat up in the coming months. The Kia Sonet was the fifth most sold sub-four-meter SUV in the country last month, with 9,777 units sold versus 10,488 units during the same period last year, representing a 7% YoY decline in sales in India.
Compact SUV Sale Oct 2022
The Venue received a significant update a few months ago, with the thoroughly redesigned front fascia and rear standing in line with Hyundai’s latest Sensuous Sportiness styling language. The five-seater finished fourth in the compact SUV standings in October 2022, with 9,585 units sold compared to 10,554 units in October 2021.
As a result, sales fell by 9% year on year. The XUV300 finished sixth in the second half of the table with 6,282 unit sales compared to 4,203 units during the same period in 2021, representing a 49 percent YoY increase. The Nissan Magnite finished seventh with 2,819 units versus 3,389 units, a 17% drop year on year.
Renault India’s Kiger finished eighth with 2,685 units versus 2,643 units, a 2% increase year on year. Honda’s WR-V sold 653 units versus 728 units, a 10% decrease year on year. Last month, Toyota did not ship a single unit of the Urban Cruiser.
