Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Unveiled

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 made its global debut today at the 2022 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The flagship cruiser has been spotted testing several times in the last year or so and has finally made its debut, much to the delight of enthusiasts, and it certainly has a few tricks up its sleeve.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 shares the same double downtube frame as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, but with different mounting points to emphasise the cruiser’s character. It will make its Indian debut on November 18 at the Rider Mania three-day event in Goa before hitting Indian showrooms.

It is expected to cost around Rs. 4 lakh and features a number of premium features such as silver alloy finishes and chrome detailing. Chrome accents the throttle body covers, twin exhaust pipes, and circular rearview mirrors, while silver alloy accents the headlamp casing, brackets, triple clamps, and switchgear area.

The Super Meteor 650 will be available in a variety of configurations, as well as a variety of touring-related accessories to meet the needs of discerning customers. It has a relaxed ergonomic setup with a wide handlebar and forward-set rider footpegs, and the rider seat has a scooped finish, presumably for better comfort during long rides.

Aside from the split seats, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 shares many features with the Meteor 350, including the switchgear. The Tripper Navigation system powered by Google will be sold with this cruiser motorcycle, which has a lower seat height than the Meteor 350. The small rear end features a round tail lamp with an LED signature and alloy surrounds.

The Super Meteor is the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to feature upside-down front forks, and while the lighting up front is LED, the turn indicators remain traditional halogens. It is powered by the same 648 cc parallel twin-cylinder oil-cooled fuel-injected engine that powers the 650 Twins.

It is powerful enough to produce around 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque when paired with a six-speed transmission. Front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, black finished alloy wheels, twin-sided rear shock absorbers, sporty dual-tone body graphics, and a twin-pod semi-digital instrument console are also highlights of the Super Meteor 650. In contrast to the Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp, it rides on CEAT Zoom Cruz tyres.
