TVS Apache RTR 165 RP (Race Performance) Launched At INR 1.45 Lakh

The new Apache RTR 165 RP from TVS Motor Company is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh. This is the first model to be released under the new Race-Performance sub-brand of the company. The new motorcycle is considerably more expensive than the RTR 160 4V, which costs Rs 1.21 lakh. In fact, it was almost 5,000 dollars more expensive than the Apache RTR 200 4V. (1.39 lakh)

A highly redesigned 164.9cc engine powers the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP. This 4-valve, single-cylinder engine produces 19.2bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. The RTR 160 4V, which produces 17.5bhp at 9,250rpm and 14.73Nm at 7,250rpm, is substantially less powerful.

“15 percent bigger valves controlled by Hi-Lift Hi-Duration cams and twin spring actuators for racier engine performance,” according to the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP. The new engine has “a revised bore stroke ratio of 1.37 that allows free-revving up to the redline” and “a redesigned dome piston for a higher compression ratio,” according to the firm.

The slipper clutch, adjustable brake, and clutch levers are standard on the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission. The suspension is the same as on the normal RTR 160 4V, with telescopic forks in front and monoshock in back. The new 165 RP, on the other hand, lacks the adjustable suspension found on the RTR 200 4V.

The new TVS Apache RTR 165 RP features a distinctive colour scheme and seat cover. Only 200 units of the new versions will be built, according to TVS.
