The previous as well as the year 2021 has been one of the most volatile year for many Automakers and Car Manufacturers. However, looking at a brighter side, there is increase in demand for Electric Vehicles (EVs). Also, EVs have been more efficient and more affordable since its debut in the Automobile Industry as they are better than IC combustion engines in many ways. They are Eco-friendly, produce no noise as compared to petrol and diesel engines, better at mileage. However, these cars can be a little less pocket friendly for an average Indian buyer. In this blog, we’ve made a list of Upcoming Electric Cars In India 2021-2022 Under 10 lakh INR.

1. Soul EV

Kia motors have prepared a registration/trademark by the name of Kia Soul EV in India, so, there are chances of seeing the vehicle in India soon. The interior also has a balance of being little funky and simple as that of exteriors of the model. The dashboard and the instrumental cluster has an improved design and the steering wheel is also same as of typical Kia cars. The interiros are expected to come with Ambient lighting with in both Dual tone and Single tone finish. Talking about the power-train, Soul will be available in two variants namely Long Range (64 kwh)and Standard Range (39.2 kwh). Long range variant will produce 201 bhp of power while the standard range will variant will produce 134 bhp of power which will be incomparable in its segment. The Soul EV is expected to launch at a price of 10 lakh INR (Ex-Showroom).

2. Renault K-ZE

K-ZE is based on CMF platform (Common Module Family) which produces Datsun, Redi-Go and Kwid. Talking about the exteriors, the Renault K-ZE will look similar to Kwid with a little difference in the the front grill and some of the body parts. However, overall, it will remind you of Kwid in the first place. Interiors of the vehicle are also similar to that of the kwid’s ICE variant. The powertrain has a major difference as it is a electric vehicle and not a IC combustion engine vehicle like any other vehicle. It runs on a 26.8 Kw battery which requires a charging time of 4 HR to charge with a normal charger, however, a fast charger can charge it upto 80 % within half an hour. The front axel mounted motor which generates 44 PS of power and 125 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the care can gain a top speed of 105 kmph and provides a range of 350 km. K-ZE will be available at an Ex-Showroom priceof 10 lakh INR.

3. Tata Altroz EV

The Atroz EV is made on a Alpha ARC platform with the same styling elements of the Tata Altroz. Same design, same stance and same side, rear and front profiles can be seen in this EV within 15 lakh INR. The interiors of the vehicle has a difference majorly in the center console as their is no mechanical gearbox. The electrifying details like ambient lighting, floating touchscreen and a tri-arrow design on the seats as well as on dashboard can be seen. Talking about the powertrain, it will have a 30.2 Kw battery generating 100 bhp of horsepower. The battery can be charged upto 80% within an hour, however, their is an extra battery pack which provides you 20 to 40 % additional range, this makes the powertrain more interesting. The total range provided by the EV will be 500 km which is unparalled in the segment.

4. Mahindra eKUV100

The eKUV100 can be considered as a rival of Altroz EV. Again, there is not much change in the design as that of the KUV 100, only the front grill has a different look. Matching to the exteriors, the car has a blue accent on both front grill and the dashboard of the vehicle. The eKUV100 will run on a 15.9 Kw motor which will generate 54.4 PS of power and 120 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the vehicle offers a range of 150 km of range. Talking about the charging time required, it will take 5 hrs 45 mins to fully charge the battery with a normal charger. However, with a fast charger, it can be charged upto 80 % within 55 mins. The pricing of the eKUV100 is expected to be 8 to 13 lakh INR.

5. Maruti Suzuki WagonR

The MAruti Suzuki WagonR or WagonR electric is being tested by the company since 2018. However, it is said to chnange its name to Future OV till it is launched in Indian market. The exteriors of the electric will also have a tall boy design as that of the original wagonR. However, the splot-headlamp console of the vehicle is what makes the main difference. The LED DRLs are located more towards the bonet of the car while the main Headlamp console is located on the bumper with LED fog lamp. The interiors of the wagonR will also have similar aspects to that of the wagonR. The car will generate 50 Kw, however, the torque and other specifications are yet to be discovered of the vehicle. The expected range of the vehicle is 200 km. Furthermore, the vehicle will be expected at a price of 10 lakh INR (Ex-Showroom).
