Upcoming Hyundai SUV’s in 2022 – New Tucson To Creta Facelift

Hyundai plans to introduce four new SUVs in India before the conclusion of the fiscal year 2022-23. (April 2022 to March 2023). The corporation is hoping to reclaim lost market share with new SUVs. Three of the four SUVs will be facelifted versions of current models.

By mid-2022, the business intends to introduce the new Venue makeover in the country. The new model has already been spotted on Indian roads several times. Hyundai will also release the N-Line model with sportier design features and suspension settings with the facelift. It will be given the new design identity of the brand, which has already been seen on the new Tucson in international markets.

The new Venue will be available with the same engine options as before: a 1.2L NA petrol with 83bhp, a 118bhp 1.0L turbo petrol with 118bhp, and a 99bhp 1.5L diesel with 99bhp.

1. Hyundai Creta Facelift

In South East Asian markets, Hyundai has already unveiled the 2017 Creta facelift. The new model is expected to appear in our market before the end of the year, most likely around Diwali. The outside of the new model will be extensively altered, and new features will be included. A new ‘Parametric Jewel’ grille with integrated LED DRLs will be installed on the front fascia. Lower on the bumper is the main headlamp unit.

Advanced features such as six airbags, ESC (electronic stability control), and ISOFIX are likely to be standard on the India-spec vehicle. It will also have a 360-degree camera and a new digital driver’s display. Blind spot monitoring, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking are all anticipated to be included in the vehicle’s ADAS package. The engine options will be a 113bhp 1.5L NA petrol, a 113bhp 1.5L turbo-diesel, and a 138bhp 1.4L turbocharged petrol. The transmission options will most likely be comparable to the current model.

2. Hyundai Creta Facelift

Hyundai is likely to launch the new Tucson in the second half of 2022. The new model will rival the likes of the VW Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross & Jeep Compass. If reports are to be believed, Hyundai will launch the long wheelbase version of the SUV in the country. It is likely to be a 7-seater version instead of the 5-seater model on sale in overseas. The SUV has 80mm longer wheelbase, while the overall length has been increased by 150mm. The India-spec model is likely to be offered with the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engine that powers the outgoing model.

3. New Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai is likely to launch the new Tucson in the second half of 2022. The new model will rival the likes of the VW Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross & Jeep Compass. If reports are to be believed, Hyundai will launch the long wheelbase version of the SUV in the country. It is likely to be a 7-seater version instead of the 5-seater model on sale in overseas. The SUV has 80mm longer wheelbase, while the overall length has been increased by 150mm. The India-spec model is likely to be offered with the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engine that powers the outgoing model.

4. New Hyundai Kona EV Facelift

Hyundai will give a mid-life facelift to the Kona EV in the country in 2022. Already on sale in international markets, the new model has received comprehensive cosmetic and feature updates. It comes with new headlamps, revised bumpers, wheel arches with body colour finish, new alloys & less body cladding. It comes equipped with a new 10.25-inch digital instrument console, a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless connectivity, updated BlueLink connected car tech, blindspot assistance, safe exit warning and more. It will come with the 39.2kWh battery and 136bhp electric motor. The SUV could also introduce a larger battery pack with the new Kona EV.
