Upcoming MG Hector Spotted Testing Before The Launch

While MG recently raised the prices of its entire lineup, including the current version of the Hector SUV, the updated version of the Hector is set to be released in the coming weeks. Overdrive recently spotted a fully camouflaged version of the updated MG Hector on test in the treacherous conditions of Ladakh. The fully-wrapped MG Hector revealed a few key details of the updated design, which will appear in the facelifted version that has already been teased on MG’s social media accounts.

The new massive front grille, with tapered edges on the upper sides and vertical edges on the lower sides, is the most noticeable change in the facelifted MH Hector spotted on test. The grille now has diamond-studded inserts, and the MG logo is located in the upper middle of the grille. The split headlamps assembly, on the other hand, has not changed. It retains its sleek dual-functioning daytime running LEDs above, as well as dual LED projectors with LED fog lamps on the front bumper.

The side profile is unchanged, with the updated MG Hector retaining the same silhouette, window shoulder line, creases on side body panels, and 18-inch alloy wheels as the current model. The production version of the updated Hector, on the other hand, is expected to get an updated design for the 18-inch alloy wheels, at least in higher-spec variants. While the tail lamp layout remains unchanged from the current model, MG may introduce new LED inserts for the tail lamps to give them a new look.

The cabin of the updated MG Hector has already been teased in all its glory on social media handles. The new Hector will have a completely redesigned dashboard, with a slanted 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system – the largest in any production car in India. The AC vents, as well as the full-TFT instrument console, are all new additions to the new MG Hector. The updated Hector, like the current model, will have a dual-tone black and beige cabin layout with piano black and brushed metal inserts.

The updated MG Hector will retain the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged 143 PS petrol engine and 2.0-liter four-cylinder 170 PS diesel engine options under the skin. Both engine options will come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, though the petrol engine will also be available with a CVT.
