2022 Volvo XC40 Facelift Launched In India At Rs. 43.20 Lakh

Volvo Cars India has announced the domestic launch of the 2022 XC40, which is priced at Rs. 43.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted entry-level luxury SUV features numerous interior and exterior changes, as well as a brand new mild-hybrid system. The refreshed XC40 made its global debut earlier this year.

It will continue to face competition from the Audi Q3, BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and Mini Countryman. The front grille has been updated with a glossy black finish, and the Volvo badge sits in the centre with chrome surrounds. The headlamps have been given a sleeker makeover, while the signature Thor’s Hammer LED Daytime Running Lights have been retained.

Other highlights include new fog lamp housings with black surrounds, new front and rear skid plates, a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels, mildly updated LED tail lamps, and chromed-out twin exhaust outlets. A nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is standard in the cabin.

A PM 2.5 air purifier, a 14-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, a new crystal gear lever, wireless charging, and other features are also included. The interior has an upmarket feel thanks to the use of fewer physical buttons, and the surface materials and trims are of high quality, as you’d expect from a Volvo.

2022 Volvo XC40 Facelift Powertrain

The 2022 Volvo XC40 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The system is equipped with an eight-speed torque converter AT and produces 297 bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque. The idle start/stop technology has increased the fuel economy to 15 kmpl.

The list of standard safety features includes seven airbags, three-point seatbelts, a blind spot monitoring system with steering assist, and Volvo’s Pilot Assist. Along with its smaller sibling, the Swedish brand has introduced the updated XC90 with a mild-hybrid engine, which costs Rs. 94.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
