Over the years, the Blazer brand has graced a variety of sizes and forms of Chevy SUVs, and we now know what the next version the 2024 Blazer EV will look like. It appears to be a futuristic version of the present gas-powered Blazer, a sporty-looking mid-size crossover with a unique posture thanks to its huge wheels, long wheelbase, and short front and rear overhangs. This is the SS variant, which implies that it will have a higher level of performance than the lower trim levels.
- Chevrolet has released an official image showing the 2024 Blazer EV SS in full.
- It will use GM’s Ultium battery packs, like the Equinox EV and many other upcoming GM EVs.
- This mid-size electric SUV will go on sale in spring 2023 and more details are coming July 18.
The Blazer EV has been in the works for a while, having been introduced alongside the impending Equinox EV as part of Chevy’s growing electric lineup. However, aside from a few teasers from a few months ago, this is our finest look yet at the Blazer ahead of its July 18 reveal. The Blazer will be the first EV to wear Chevy’s “SS” performance badge, which leads us to wonder how much more horsepower it will have. The SS logo is evident on the front grille, and it has big Continental tyres wrapped around 12-spoke wheels, as shown in this shot.
The Blazer will employ GM’s Ultium battery packs, but we have no idea what sizes will be available. Expect both single- and dual-motor powertrains to be available, with the SS getting the most powerful AWD option as standard, and the lower-priced versions, such as the LT, RS, and Premier trims, getting less powerful single-motor setups as standard.
In July, more details on the Blazer EV will be revealed, including range estimates, horsepower and torque figures, and even pricing. Chevy says the Blazer EV will be available in Spring 2023, and we believe the SS model will be available first.
