And also being part of the reason for the pollution by combustion engines. (Helloindia.us) So we have made a list of EV Startups that truly started with EV’s and only manufactures electric vehicles.
10. Strom Motors
Strom motor a Mumbai-based EV Startup founded by Pratik Gupta and Jean-Luc Abaziou in 2016. The company has started booking for the Strom-R3 which is the 2-door 2-seater car. The Strom-R3 is a 100% made-in-India product with a 200 km of driving range on a single charge.
The car uses machine learning and it also adapts to the road’s terrain and driver habits. The car also features a 4G connected diagnostic engine which helps to track the location, status of the charge, and complete health report. The Strom-R3 to launch at the price tag of 4-5 lakhs (5,500-6000 USD).
9. Euler Motors
Euler motor is a commercial electric vehicle manufacturing EV Startup founded back in 2018 in Delhi. The company raised 13.2 crores from their very first client in 2018. Euler motors deployed 200 battery-electric 3-wheeled delivery vehicles along with 100 charging stations in 2019. The company is operating for brands like BigBasket, Blue Dart, ECom Express, Udaan, and milk basket.
The E-rickshaw uses a 5.76 kWh battery to deliver a driving range of about 100 km on a full charge. It takes 3-4 hours for a full charge but, using fast charging can go up to 60-70% in 40 minutes. Euler’s prototype vehicle has a capacity of 400-500kg of payload.
8. Enflux
Enfulx motors is a brand behind India’s first electric superbike Emflux one. Founded back in 2016 by Varun Mittal who was operation manager at Jugnoo.
The Emflux one features a 7″ touch TFT Display which is useful in GPS navigation. The bike can achieve a top speed of 200 kmph and has a range of 200 Km. The bike will be available for the price tag of 5-6 lakhs($6,750-8100). The AC induction motor boasts 50KW peak power is used as a powerhouse for the bike.
7. Okinawa
Okinawa Autotech Pvt. Ltd. is an EV startup established in 2015 by Jeetender Sharma. The company has opened a manufacturing facility at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan with a capacity of 300 units per shift. The First Okinawa product launched in Jan-2017.
The company is currently working on the 8th product of their range the OKI-100. Which will be a motorcycle with a detachable battery and with a driving range of 150-160 km. The bike will take 2 hours for a full charge and the bike will offer performance similar to a 125cc bike. OKI 100 is expected to launch at the price of 1 lakh(1,378-1400 USD) price tag.
6. Revolt
Revolt is an electric two-wheeler EV startup founded by Rahul Sharma who is also a co-founder of Micromax. The revolt started its journey in mid-2019 by launching two bikes Revolt RV 300 and RV 400. The bike has a driving range of 150 km per charge and 80kmph top speed. the battery can be charged 0-100% in 4.5 hours of charging. The battery has been certified as waterproof, damage proof, shockproof, and all-weather friendly according to ARAI standards.
5.Ultraviolette
Ultraviolette is a Bengaluru-based startup. The EV Startup is funded by TVS motors with 29.8% stakes for 30 crores. Inspired by aviation and aerospace engineering designs company has developed the Ultraviolette F77. The bike will first roll out in Bengaluru and the nationwide expansions planned next year.
Ultraviolette F77 can accelerate 0-60 kmph in 2.9 seconds. The bike has a driving range of 150 km with a top speed of 140kmph. the bike is expected to launch between 3-3.25 lakh(4000-4500 USD). The bike is in its 7th generation and already gone through thousands of kilometers of testing.
4. Tork Motor
Tork motor was founded in 2009 by Kapil Shelke but, comes in focus from 2016. Bharat forge has the majority of stocks in the EV Startup which is 49%. Other and investors including Bhavish Agarwal and Ankit Bhati, Co-founders of Ola and Ratan Tata. The company is now valued at 113 crores ($15.2 million).
The first model from the company T6X – is targeted to launch by June this year. The T6X is expected to launch at 1.2-1.3 lakh (1,652-1,750 USD). T6X can go 100 kilometers on a single charge and you can draw 27 Nm of instant torque from the bike. Other features in the bike include cloud connectivity, AI-enabled system, in-built navigation capabilities, Connected with a mobile app.
3. Yulu
Yulu was founded in 2017 by Amit Gupta, RK Misra, Hemant Gupta, and Naveen Dachuri. The company mainly focuses on electronic vehicle rental in major cities in India. Yulu expanded there service to 6 cities in 3 years (Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, New Delhi, Ahmedabad). The company has raised $19.9million in funding as of Feb 2021. Bajaj auto has 16.66% stakes in Yulu to become a major stakeholder.
User can use the app to avail the service, Users are connected to micro-mobility vehicles by the application. you can use Yulu Zones to park the vehicles and also access the vehicles. The company has made several Yulu zones in the cities they are operating with.
2. Ather Energy
Ather Energy Pvt. Ltd was founded by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013. Ather Energy was on the top before over 1st position EV Startup replaces it last year. The company is funded by Flipkart co-owners Sachin and Binny Bansal. Sachin Bansal owns 20.69% of the company and Binny Bansal has 4.38% stakes. Also, Hero MotoCorp has invested and gained a 37.84% stake in the company.
The E-scooter features a 7” LCD display for navigation and other ride details and calls. It also shows the battery information and you can pause play and forward songs directly from the screen. It can go up to the top speed of 80 km/h with an ARAI certified range of 116 km in a single charge.
The bike has 22L storage and also has a reverse to park the scooter.
1.Ola Electric
Ola Electric Mobility Private Limited is an EV startup led by Bhavesh Agrawal who is also the founder of Ola Cabs. The company started on 26th May 2017. And comes into focus after the company announced the acquisition of Etrego a Netherlands-based electric scooter company by Ola last year. Also it most Valued EV Startup in India.
Ola had announced its plan to bring one million electric vehicles on Indian roads by 2022. Pawan Munjal, Hyundai Motor Company, Matrix Partners India, Kia Motors, Tata Sons Private Limited, SoftBank, Tiger Global Management. are some major investors in the company. Ola is also working on the world’s biggest 2-wheeler manufacturing plant.
The Ola electric scooter will be launched in the second half of 2021. The scooter features modern LED headlamps, telescopic front suspension, and a touchscreen digital console. The electric scooter to be manufactured in its Tamil Nadu plant.
