The Kia EV6 shares its platform with Hyundai Ioniq 5 whereas the BMW i4 uses “CLAR” platform.
The Indian electric vehicle market is gradually expanding; we are even receiving premium electric vehicles. The Kia EV6 is a direct rival to BMW’s i4 electric sedan. Both electric vehicles are priced between 50 lakh and 1 crore and were released close to each other. Here’s a quick look at the two.
Kia EV6 vs BMW i4: Design and dimensions
The two vehicles’ designs are diametrically opposed. The BMW i4 appears to be an electric version of the 4 Series Gran Coupe, whereas the Kia EV6 appears futuristic, which helps it stand out on the road.
The dimensions of the EV6 are taller, wider, and have a longer wheelbase than the BMW i4. Furthermore, because it is built on a dedicated EV platform, it has a large cabin. Even in terms of boot space, the EV6 outperforms the EV5.
Kia EV6 vs BMW i4: Driving range
The EV6 has a battery capacity of 77.4 kWh and a driving range of up to 528 km, whereas the i4 has a larger battery capacity of 83.9 kWh and a driving range of 590 km. The WLTP cycle is used to assess the driving range.
The EV6 can be charged at a rate of up to 350 kW. This equates to a charging time of 10-80% of 18 minutes, while the charging time with the 50 kW charger is 73 minutes. The home charger charges the vehicle from 10% to 100% in 7 hours and 20 minutes.
The BMW i4 can be charged to 205 kW, which is less than the EV6. It can be charged from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes, and it takes 83 minutes to charge a 50 kW battery. The i4 can be fully charged in 8.25 hours using the home charger.
Kia EV6 vs BMW i4: Performance
The EV6 is available in two drivetrain configurations: RWD and AWD. The RWD generates 229 PS and 350 Nm, while the AWD generates 325 PS and 605 Nm.
The i4 generates 340 Ps and 430 Nm of torque. Although the i4 is more powerful, the EV6 has significantly more torque and is available with AWD.
Kia EV6 vs BMW i4: Price
The BMW i4 has priced at ₹69.9 lakh. The RWD version of EV6 costs ₹59.95 lakhs and the AWD is priced at ₹64.95 lakhs.
