- In our market, the Tata Altroz Racer Edition will compete with the Hyundai i20 N-Line in the hot-hatch category.
- A 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 118 horsepower and 170 Nm will be included.
Customers will have access to the only 5-star hot hatch in the nation thanks to this.
Tata Motors’ Altroz Racer Edition will compete with the Hyundai i20 N-Line. In essence, it will be an improved version of the current i-Turbo edition of the Altroz. The Altroz is the only hatchback with a 5-star safety rating in India.
That explains why it has recently been driving a lot of customers away from vehicles like the Hyundai i20. The only advantage the sportiest i20 model from Hyundai now has is about to be taken from it. Tata will soon make the Altroz Racer Edition official at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023.
I20 N-Line Rival Tata Altroz Racer Edition
What’s going on behind the hood of this special edition model will be its most noticeable feature. The 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine will be replaced by this more potent unit, but the 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-liter NA engines will remain untouched. Online reports claim that this engine will have a peak output of 118 horsepower and 170 Newton metres of torque. This compares favourably to the Hyundai i20 N-offerings. Line’s (118 hp and 172 Nm).
The catch is that Tata might pair this model with a 6-speed manual transmission. This may be a game-changer because only performance aficionados, who adore manual gearboxes, would choose such models. This trick is missed by the i20 N-Line because it only has an iMT and a DCT transmission. Additionally, the DCT gearbox, a sporty transmission that provides simplicity and comfort for the owners, can be available with the Altroz Racer Edition.
We anticipate it will have some other mechanical improvements in addition to the big changes to the powertrain. To offset the increased performance, this can involve a sportier steering wheel and retuned suspension. However, the precise information won’t be available until Tata unveils it at the Auto Expo 2023 in a few hours. What do you think about this?
