Bajaj Dominar 250 is meant to be the more accessible bike under the Dominar lineup. Its engine is based on the KTM 250 Duke, and the performance cruiser looks similar to its bigger brother, the Dominar 400.
Bajaj Dominar 250 Price
The Bajaj Dominar 250 is priced at Rs 1,75,002 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 48,536 less expensive than the Dominar 400. The 250cc performance cruiser is available in three shades: Citrus Rush, Racing Red, and Sparkling Black.
Bajaj Dominar 250 Features
The Bajaj Dominar 250 comes with the same bodywork and styling as its elder sibling, the Dominar 400. It also gets the same LED illumination bits, twin barrel exhaust, and bungee straps below the pillion seat. Also present are the backlit switchgear as well as the premium and sleek mirrors with aluminum stalks.
There are a few differences between the two bikes though. To begin with, the tell-tale lights in the tank-mounted secondary info panel on the Dominar 250 are from the previous-gen Dominar 400. Hence, the Dominar 250 misses out on bits like real-time mileage and a gear-position indicator. The design of the alloy rims may be the same but they do not get a machined finish like on the Dominar 400.
The Bajaj Dominar 250 is powered by the KTM-sourced 248.8cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It is tuned slightly differently for the Dominar 250 to suit the bike’s power cruiser characteristics. The motor produces 27PS and 23.5Nm, which is lower than the output figures on the KTM 250 Duke. The Bajaj Dominar 250 has a claimed 0-100kmph acceleration figure of 10.5 seconds and a claimed top speed of 132kmph. You get a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch, just like the 250 Duke.
Bajaj Dominar 250 Suspension & Brakes
The Bajaj Dominar 250 shares its perimeter frame with the Dominar 400. The Dominar 250 also comes with a premium inverted fork but it is a slimmer 37mm unit and not the 43mm unit from the Dominar 400. The rear gas-charged preload-adjustable monoshock is linked on a box-section swingarm as opposed to the stamped metal swingarm found on the bigger Dominar. The bike gets disc brakes at both ends with a front radial brake caliper and dual-channel ABS as standard, the front disc is a smaller 300mm unit.
Bajaj Dominar 250 Rivals
In the quarter-liter segment, it will go up against the Yamaha FZ25, Suzuki Gixxer 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, and the KTM 250 Duke. Concerning its price, the Dominar 250 competes with KTM RC 125, Yedzi Roadster and Royal Enfield Classic 350, and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
