Most Sold EVs In July 2022 | Electric Car Sales In India 2022

Tata Motors Nexon EV maintained its lead in passenger electric car sales in July 2022, with 2,878 units sold compared to 680 units in the same time in 2021, representing a significant YoY volume increase of 323.2 percent (combined sales of Nexon EV and Tigor EV). The electric SUV’s range was recently enhanced with the addition of the Nexon EV Max model, which has a bigger battery pack and a longer range.

A number of additional features were also added to the standard model. The Nexon EV’s popularity has only grown in the previous year or two, and this trend is projected to continue in the near future. The five-seater will have a direct competitor in the form of Mahindra XUV400 (XUV300 based), which will debut later this year before going on sale in early 2023.

India-Spec 2022 MG ZS EV Revealed Ahead Of Launch

Mahindra is anticipated to launch its first Born Electric platform (dedicated EV base) as early as 2024, with a slew of other launches in the works. Last month, the MG ZS EV, which also underwent a facelift this year, ended second with a total domestic tally of 263 units, compared to 284 units in July 2021.

This resulted in a 7.3% decrease in volume year over year. The Hyundai Kona Electric finished third with 58 units vs 22 units in the same time in 2021, representing a 163.6 percent increase in volume year on year. BYD’s e6 electric MPV came fourth with 44 unit sales and is the Chinese company’s first passenger EV.

The Mahindra eVerito electric vehicle sold just 26 units in July 2021, a 30% increase over the previous year. Moving up the ladder, the Audi e-tron sold 7 units compared to 6 units in the same time last year, representing a 16.6% increase year on year. Porsche Taycan finished eighth with 7 units sold.

In the month of July 2022, the top 10 were filled out by the BMW iX/i4, Mercedes EQC, and passenger electric cars from other manufacturers.
