In a tweet, Rockstar Games said, “We’re pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the series is underway,” Rockstar Games informed in a tweet post.

It’s been a long time coming. The span between GTA 4 and GTA 5 was almost five years, however no information on the forthcoming instalment has been released thus far.
