Maruti Gifts A Grand Vitara To The Japanese Ambassador to India

Maruti Gifts A Grand Vitara To The Japanese Ambassador to India

Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki, Japanese Ambassador to India, and his wife, Satoshi Suzuki, were presented with a brand-new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara small SUV by the country’s leading manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The business presented the Ambassador with the all-new SUV last week. The exterior colour of the Ambassador’s new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is Opulent Red. The Grand Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s current flagship SUV, with a powerful hybrid powertrain and an AWD system.

The official Twitter account of the Indo-Japanese manufacturer published a photo of Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, handing out a bouquet to the Japanese Ambassador and his wife in front of the new SUV. “Thank you, Ambassador of Japan Mr. Hiroshi Suzuki and Mrs. Suzuki, for providing us the chance to serve,” the corporation said in a tweet. We are delighted that you have chosen the Grand Vitara as your family vehicle. I hope we meet your expectations. @HiroSuzukiAmbJP @IndianJapan ”

This is not the first time Maruti Suzuki has given a car to one of a country’s ambassadors. Prior to this delivery, the business presented another Grand Vitara to Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India, Milinda Moragoda, in November of last year. The outside of the Grand Vitara presented to the Sri Lankan envoy was similarly completed in the same Opulent Red hue.

Milinda Moragoda is said to be a devotee of the Maruti Suzuki brand, and before to purchasing the new Grand Vitara, he owned the company’s iconic off-roader, Gypsy. The entrance of a Japanese corporation to his country was greatly aided by the high commissioner. Moragoda also owns the Hindustan Ambassador, another Indian automotive classic.

The Grand Vitara is Maruti Suzuki’s top-of-the-line SUV that is currently on the market in India. The SUV is constructed in Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s second facility in Bidadi, near Bengaluru, Karantaka, and shares the base and powertrains with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara both have the same engine choices. Both of these SUVs come with a moderate hybrid or a strong hybrid petrol engine. The mild hybrid edition of the SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a maximum torque of 136 Nm and 103 PS. This engine is available with both a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

A 1.5-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine paired to a strong hybrid motor is also available for the SUV duo. In this configuration, an electric motor works alongside a gasoline engine. This engine has a maximum torque of 122 Nm and a horsepower rating of 93. This engine is compatible with an eCVT transmission. AWD is available on both the Grand Vitara and the Hyryder’s mild hybrid manual variant.

Both of these SUVs have a panoramic sunroof, dual-tone leatherette upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, a HUD, a 360-degree reverse camera, 6 airbags, and a slew of additional goodies. Thanks to strong hybrid technology, the Grand Vitara and Hyryder are also the most fuel-efficient SUVs in the class.
