Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. is one of the leading automotive manufacturers in India. They’ve been the ones behind some of the popular cars like Qualis, Innova and Fortuner. Recently, they’ve announced a joint venture with Maruti Suzuki. Since then, Toyota has launched two models, Glanza and Urban Cruiser.
The venture seems to be profitable for the company. However, people are missing the old, in-house developed Toyota models. Toyota sells some models globally that can satisfy this demand of Indian people. Today, we’ll be seeing a few of such models:-
1. GR Supra: The Renewed Legend
Given the amount of its fanbase, it is not strange that Supra is on the list. Toyota Global recently resurrected the iconic marque in partnership with BMW. It gets the 2.0-litre inline-four or a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine. The GR Supra could prove a competition to Nissan GT-R, Nissan’s sportscar that showcases its legacy.

2. Hilux : The Pickup-Styled Fortuner
If you want to purchase a lifestyle pickup truck in India, only one option is the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. As the Hilux is based on the same platform as Fortuner, Toyota could make it a worthy competitor to the V-Cross. Recently, it was alleged that the company is bringing the Hilux to India. Let’s hope they do it ASAP. We just hope that the Indian prices will be in the range of Rs. 17 to 20 Lakh, unlike the Fortuner which currently costs upwards of Rs. 30 Lakhs.
3. Toyota Venza/Harrier: No Compass Needed
Boys, Relax; Harrier is not only from Tata. In markets other than America, Toyota Venza is sold as Toyota Harrier. It is a hybrid SUV that could rival Jeep Compass if it comes to India. The car comes with a 2.5-litre engine and a 650 V electric motor. This combination makes 219 bhp. For people who think the Fortuner is too costly, the Venza/Harrier can make a great deal if priced correctly.

4. Toyota C-HR: Test Till Best
Do you think the XUV 700 was tested for a long time? Wait till you meet the C-HR. It has been spotted numerous times getting tested in India with no official announcement or teaser whatsoever. However, if the company decides to launch it in India, it will be the perfect rival for cars like Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
5. Land Cruiser: Come Back, Legend!!
The Toyota Land Cruiser has been a great performer since its first model was released. It has been a great all-rounder for many people who like offroading or want to showcase their power. But the strict BS6 norms meant that Toyota had to discontinue the car. Recently, Toyota Global has unveiled the facelift of the Land Cruiser LC300. This makes us wish that the company brings this car to the Indian Car Market. That’s because the car has a wide fanbase which will make the model instantly hit.
