1. Tata Punch

This one is easily the much-awaited launch of the year. The Punch is expected to debut on October 20. The car gets the same engine as Altroz, i.e. the 1.2 litre petrol engine that generates 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. It is said that a turbo petrol engine will be introduced also which will generate 110 PS. Looking at the tradition, there are speculations that Tata might launch an EV version of it. It gets 190 mm ground clearance. It is also stated that it has a 5 star Global NCAP rating. If the pricing starts from Rs. 5-6 Lakhs, the Punch will set a new benchmark in the segment.

2. Maruti Suzuki Celerio

The First-gen Celerio was launched in India in 2014. Since then, it has received only one update to make it look modern and a premium variant called Celerio X. Although it does not look bad, it seriously requires a fresh update. It now seems like Maruti Suzuki is giving the Celerio exactly what it needs. The car has been spied various times with Camofaluge and it was also spotted once without it for a TVC Shoot. It is expected to come with 1.0 litre and 1.2 litre petrol engine options as well as a factory-fitted CNG kit.

3. Toyota Belta

If the Urban Cruiser and Glanza weren’t enough, Toyota is rebadging another Maruti Suzuki Car. This time it’s the Ciaz which is likely getting rebadged as Belta. There isn’t any official confirmation yet, but some while ago it was spotted with a camouflage. It is said that it will be a direct replacement for the Yaris Sedan. 4. Skoda Slavia

The Skoda Rapid has been a popular product in India. Sharing its platform with the VW Vento, the model has seen minor facelifts over the years and customers are also praising the car. After all these years, the Czech brand is now readying the replacement of Skoda Rapid which is named ‘SLAVIA’. It will be based on the MQB-A0-IN platform that also underpins the Skoda Kushaq. The expected price of the car is in the range of Rs. 12-20 Lakh.

5. Toyota C-HR

Although spotted multiple times, there hasn’t been any official announcement regarding the launch of C-HR. The model was introduced in Japan in 2016. In that market, it gets either a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine or a 1.8 litre hybrid. It has scored a complete five stars in the ASEAN NCAP. By converting its prices to INR, it is expected to start at Rs. 18 Lakh. After launch, it’ll go against the Jeep Compass and the MG Astor.
