According to Mr. Shashank Srivastava, executive director of marketing and sales at India’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki will reveal prices for the Grand Vitara compact SUV in the next 3–4 days. The Grand Vitara will start being delivered on September 26, 2022, the start of the Navratri festival. Bookings for Maruti Suzuki’s high-end NEXA lineup’s Grand Vitara, which takes the S-Cross’ place, have been available for more than a month. Over 50,000 Grand Vitara reservations have already been made with about 40% of those reservations being for the potent hybrid model, according to Maruti Suzuki. The SUV also offers the best-in-class all-wheel drive option, and 5-7% of reservations are made with this feature. The rest of the 55 % bookings are for the mild hybrid trims of the compact SUV.
The Hyryder Urban Cruiser is a sibling of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and is marketed under the Toyota name. The main mechanical difference between the two SUVs is in their styling. Of course, Maruti Suzuki may offer more options for buyers and price the Grand Vitara lower than the Toyota Hyryder Urban Cruiser. The Grand Vitara could cost a few lakhs less than the Hyryder, which has a starting price of around Rs. 15 lakh.

The Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq are just a few of the SUVs that these two compete against. The Grand Vitara will be delivered to Maruti Suzuki’s NEXA dealerships across the nation, and both SUVs will be manufactured by Toyota at the Bidadi factory, located off Bengaluru. Despite the Grand Vitara and Hyryder Urban Cruiser’s striking resemblances, each brand will handle after-sales support. Consider the Nissan Terrano-Renault Duster or the Skoda Rapid-VW Vento.
Regarding the mechanicals of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the small SUV will be available with two hybrid powertrains: a mild hybrid and a strong hybrid. The mild hybrid will combine a mild hybrid Suzuki Hybrid Vehicle System unit with a 1.5 litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine (102 Bhp-137 Nm) to provide assistance during hard acceleration, brake energy regeneration, and idle-stop technology. All-wheel drive will be an option for the manual transmission of the mild hybrid powertrain.
It is unknown if Maruti Suzuki will pair the mild hybrid powertrain with the 6-speed automatic transmission. A 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine with an Atkinson cycle (91 Bhp–122 Nm) will power the powerful hybrid. A 78 Bhp-141 Nm electric motor is coupled with this motor. The SUV’s combined output is 115 Bhp, and another best-in-class feature is the ability to travel about 25 kilometres entirely on electricity.
