The all-new SUV will be based on Toyota’s TNGA-B (or DNGA) platform, which has been updated and localised. It’s also been reported that Toyota and Maruti will collaborate on the SUV’s production.

The new Maruti-Toyota SUV is expected to come with two petrol engines and a hybrid drivetrain. The first model will use mild hybrid technology, while the second will have a more powerful hybrid system that will provide more power and better fuel economy. Both SUVs will also be equipped with cutting-edge technology. With the new Baleno and the upcoming new Brezza, Maruti Suzuki has shown that it is ready to compete with Hyundai, Kia, and MG. Both vehicles will be equipped with the linked technology seen in the new Baleno, which was mostly developed by Toyota.

The styling, looks, and sensations of the Maruti and Toyota JV SUVs will be distinct. The styling of the new cars will be inspired by larger Toyota models such as the RAV4 and Corolla Cross. The Maruti A-Cross (rebadged RAV4) will be comparable to the Suzuki A-Cross sold in Europe. The Toyota D22 SUV will feature a honeycomb mesh air dam and split headlamps with dual LED DRLs.
