Yamaha Motor Supplying Hyper-EV Electric Motors for Subaru Tecnica

Yamaha Joins Hand With Subaru For Future Motorsports

Yamaha Motor has announced that it will supply electric motors to Subaru Tecnica International (STI) for future motorsport. The company is creating Hyper-EV motors for use in the STI E-RA EV, which is aiming for a Nurburgring lap record. STI is developing the STI E-RA EV with the goal of gathering expertise and practise in new technologies in the world of racing, which is transitioning to a carbon-neutral era. The Subaru/STI stand at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2022, which begins today, January 14, 2022, at the Makuhari Messe exhibition facility in Chiba, Japan, will feature the STI E-RA EV Concept.

About The Project

Yamaha Motor Supplying Hyper-EV Electric Motors for Subaru Tecnica

The creation of a brand-new electric motor with the highest output density class for Hyper EVs is the emphasis of the electric motor for Hyper EVs. The electric vehicle’s engines, according to Yamaha Motor, were built as “emotional electric engines” that use the technologies and engineering sense that Yamaha has gained over the years through engine development. These motors feature a high output while being small due to Yamaha’s casting and machining processes, as well as the use of high-efficiency segment conductors.

Yamaha stated last year that it had created an electric motor with the highest output density in the industry. In April 2021, the business stated that it has created a unit with a maximum output of 350 kW that would be suitable for installation and use in hyper-EVs and other high-output applications. This electric motor’s key characteristic is its small design, which considers mechanical and electrical components as a single entity, combining the gear and inverter into one unit. It was also created with the intention of allowing many units to be installed and used on a single vehicle, according to Yamaha. (Ambien)
