Hero Super Splendor Modified to Jawa 42: Treat to the Eyes

The Jawa 42 may not have been the commercial success that Classic Legends had hoped for. However, many people in India have purchased the Jawa 42 solely on the basis of its appearance. Someone in Rajasthan has modified a two-decade-old Hero Honda Super Splendor to look like a Jawa 42, inspired by the similar design.

The whole details of this modified Super Splendor can be seen in a video uploaded by the YouTube channel of ‘Reyansh Khichi’. Here, we can see an old Super Splendor completely transformed into a motorcycle, the design and graphics of which look very much similar to the Jawa 42. While it is not a replica but an inspiration, the efforts of customization look decent enough, which has sprinkled a new lease of life in the motorcycle.

To begin with, this modified Hero Honda Super Splendor has no panels in common with the original motorcycle. While certain elements were custom-made for the motorcycle, others were shared with the Royal Enfield Bullet as part of the makeover. The motorcycle has a circular headlamp in the front and tiny rounded turn indicators on both sides. The grilles of these lamps are blacked out. A small cylindrical device for the all-analogue instrument console lies above the headlamp.

While the handlebar is identical to that seen on a modern Jawa 42, the original Splendor’s suspension frame has been preserved. The front forks with rubber gaiters are from a Bajaj Pulsar 150, while the front 17-inch wheel and 120/80-17 tyre, as well as the chopped front fender, are uniquely made for this motorbike. Furthermore, the moderator has fitted a front disc brake, which was not present on the original motorcycle.

The side appearance of this modified Super Splendor has undergone even more extensive alterations. Here, the fuel tank is taken from a Royal Enfield Bullet, while the side body panels are custom made with a specially-created flat base and angular side body cowls on them having graphics similar to the new 2.1 version of the Jawa 42. The same graphics have been crafted on the fuel tank as well.

The Super Splendor’s original 124cc engine has been rebuilt in this modification and is now finished in a black theme. Even the motorcycle’s modified exhaust pipe is painted black, giving it a far throatier exhaust noise than the factory exhaust on the original Super Splendor.

This customised Super Splendor features a curved rear fender inspired by the Royal Enfield Bullet. This rear fender has a rounded tail lamp and rounded turn indicators. The bike also receives a custom-made padded seat, which enhances the motorcycle’s appearance.
