The highly anticipated Auto Expo will return in 2023, which is exciting news for all automotive lovers around the country. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), which organizes India’s major auto show, recently revealed the dates for the 2023 edition of the Auto Expo. The show will take place in the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, from the 13th to the 18th of January 2023.
The biennial exposition, which was last held in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, was also set to take place in 2022, but it was postponed due to concerns about the impact of the third wave of COVID-19. The 2023 Auto Expo will be held every odd year, according to the calendar of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA), or the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers, starting next year.
Auto Expo 2023 Date
Director-General Rajesh Menon of the Society of Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) confirmed the event’s official dates. “The Motor Show (Auto Expo) is confirmed at India Expo Mart Greater Noida from January 13-18, 2023,” he stated. The inaugural ceremony will be held on January 11 for the media, distinguished guests, and dealers,” according to the press release.
The year 2022 marked the first time in the show’s history that it had been postponed. The event’s organizers said in August of last year that, in order to ensure the safety of exhibitors, attendees, and all other stakeholders participating and present at the Expo, they would require at least a year’s notice to plan the Auto Expo. SIAM took the decision at the moment because to the unknowns surrounding COVID-19’s development in the future months.
Auto Expo 2023 History
The Auto Expo was first held in 1986 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, after being conceived in 1985. The nine-day show was a game-changer and a platform for technological transfers. The purpose of the event was to demonstrate how the Indian automotive sector was absorbing new technology and fostering local R&D to adopt these technologies to the harsh Indian environment.
The event became stronger over time, and by 2006, it had begun to witness new debuts, concept vehicles, trade talks, and a large international presence. It received accreditation from the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA) in 2008, confirming its status as one of the world’s most prestigious car shows. The Auto Expo is now widely anticipated by both trade and fans for the opportunities it provides.
Auto Expo 2023 Venue Details
As previously stated, the 2023 event would take place in India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, which spans 58 acres. Around 64,000 square meters of exposition and convention space, as well as business lounges, VIP lounges, business centers, restaurants, food courts, parking places, storage, and warehouse facilities, are available at the venue. Wi-Fi will be available in the exhibition rooms, which will also have a centralized public speaker system and CCTV coverage.
