Radwood Series Of Nostalgia-Filled Events Now Under Hagerty

The celebration of the ’80s and ’90s automotive lifestyle continues.

Radwood has been added to Hagerty’s ever-expanding calendar of events. Since 2017, Radwood, an event brand that honours the automotive culture of the 1980s and 1990s, has been a wonderful gathering for automobile aficionados from those years. These stand-alone events feature automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles from 1980 to 1999, in an automotive celebration that “captures the essence of a bodacious age.”

Starting March 2022, Radwood will continue under the stewardship of Hagerty in support of the media company’s purpose to save driving and car culture.

Radwood will be on display at The Amelia, the Detroit Concours d’Elegance, and the Greenwich Concours d’Elegance under Hagerty’s guidance. As part of Hagerty’s new Cars & Community programme, these are claimed to build onramps for new enthusiasts. Art Cervantes and Warren Madsen, two of the Radwood founders, will also join the Hagerty team.

“Generation X and millennials are drawn to the automobiles and culture of their youth, and they make up the majority of our new members,” McKeel Hagerty, Hagerty’s CEO, stated. “The nostalgia of the 1980s resonates with me personally, from Members Only coats to t-topped Z Cars and Firebirds. Rolling onto the RADwood show field is about as near to going back in time as you can get.”

Radwood was born in 2017 in the San Francisco Bay area. We attended one that year with a vintage Mazda Eunos Cosmo, while the following year saw among the coolest attendees of the nostalgia-filled Radwood event.

Through its tight community of friends and the power of social media, Radwood has grown since. In 2019, Radwood hosted 10 shows a year in various locations in the US.

Radwood will hold its next event on April 23, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
